Conversely, SSA2083 is a martensitic stainless chromium steel, ideal for crafting corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, polishable moulds suitable for processing chemically aggressive injection-moulding. Type of steel and characteristics:
Martensitic stainless chromium steel. The high carbon content permits hardening and tempering to increase strength levels with good corrosion, wear resistance and polishabilty.
Applications:
Mould, mould insert requiring good corrosion resistance, good wear resistance and good polishability.
Heat Treatment:
Hot Forging -1050 - 850°C
Annealing - 840 - 870°C
Stress relieving - 650°C
Hardening - 1000 - 1050°C
Hardness obtainable - 53 – 56 HRC in air, oil
Tempering -100 - 200 °C
