AISI 4140 is a 1% chromium-molybdenum steel with medium hardenability, offering high tensile strength. Improved machinability allows for increased feeds and speeds, extending tool life without compromising mechanical properties. Pre-hardened and tempered, it can be further surface hardened via flame or induction hardening, as well as nitriding. We import from Europe, Japan and China.
