Applications:
Components with large cross sections, requiring high toughness and core strength, such as gears, crankshafts and heavy duty gear shafts in aircraft and truck construction and mechanical engineering.
Heat Treatment:
Hot Forging -1150 - 850°C
Normalizing - 850 - 880°C
Soft Annealing - 650 - 700°C
Carburizing - 880 - 980°C oil
Intermediate Annealing - 630 - 650°C
Core Hardening - 830 - 870°C
Case Hardening - 780 - 820°C
Quenchant - Oil, water, salt bath
Tempering - 150 - 200°C
