SSA2714 is an alloyed steel with chromium, nickel, and molybdenum, renowned for its exceptional impact toughness at high temperatures and resistance to thermal fatigue. It withstands repeated shocks and tempering well, offering moderate wear resistance. It can be hardened using oil or air, showcasing excellent through hardenability with low phosphorus and sulphur content. This steel is easily polished and suitable for applications requiring pitting and chrome plating. We import from Europe, Japan and China.

Type of steel and characteristics:
Cr-Ni-Mo alloyed hot work tool steel with high temperature impact toughness and thermal fatigue strength, resistant to repeated shocks, high resistant to tempering, medium wear resistance, oil and air hardening with good through hardenability, low P and S content, polish able. Suitable for pitting and chrome plating.
Applications:
Dies, including those of very large size; tools for rod and tube extrusion; forming dies; bending and embossing tools: plastic moulds
Heat Treatment:
Hot Forging -1100 - 850°C
Annealing - 650 - 700°C
Stress relieving - 600 - 650°C
Hardening - 870 - 900°C
Hardness obtainable - 54 – 56 HRC
Nitriding - 540°C
